Well I got it together, and took it out for a test ride..and one pop..and a huge smoke screen behind me..end result..motor is done!
I got a donor..( I hate that word) but this is a bike with a bad title..so it is just a parts bike, but it has a good motor..so I am goign to swap those out, and rebuild the other one..so at the end of the day..I know the motor will be fresh and ready to last for the next 20 or 30 years..
The temp motor someone replaced the water pump and re used the O rings and seal..so there is a water leak into the oil..so I have the parts on the way to repair that, but the compression on that one is 165 to 170 in each cylinder..vs the 40 to 60 in the other one..I know I should have checked that but the PO told me that it was a great motor..(umm, nope) but thats ok..Working on bikes is my therapy, so I have until May to get it done..thats when the season starts for me..
I might need some of your guys help in sourcing some new parts when I get the other motor tore down..
