I went out exploring.

Headed out past one of our local reservoirs-was looking fora particular road. I saw another one that I hadnt seen before, and decided to take it.

There was a sign that indicated "Oakridge 20". Normally one takes the expressway to Oakridge, so I decided what the heck.

After about a mile the pavement ended, and I again decided, what the heck... I am on a strom, right?

Off I went, and was treated to 19 miles of solitude. No other cars or riders. Just me, the woods, the road, and the bike. I got to look down on valleys, and on creeks and rivers.

Sure enough, I popped out by Oakridge, grinning ear to ear. Its pretty neat being able to run highway speed to the boonies, go through them, then run highway speed back.

This was the halfway point, when I can, I am going back to see about those falls...

I gather the unpaved road was decent to ride on. Around here, I'd be pretty reluctant to head out on a gravel road but maybe they are not as loaded with loose gravel everywhere as they are here.

He was on his V-Strom. They are a dual-sport and a loose gravel road is no problem for them. :)

Sounds like a fun ride Dick. :action:

Sounds like a great ride. How is it on your back?

The back is doing fine on the strom... I quickly recovered the instinctive reaction to standing through a big pothole...

What I havent told MrsUBW, is that I think the shoulder surgery is failing... Shhh. Mana to ya for keeping it quiet...

Love riding too much...

I feel for you and your shoulders. Mine both grind like an old ball joint that has been with out grease for five years.

I can't afford to get any cutting done on them and think the Dr.s will tell me to take two asprin and call them in the morning.

Long Haired Country Boy image backfires alot for me. :cheeky1:
