I have a question of bell etiquette, is it bad form or karma to remove the bell from your former ride to your new ride?:?

If it is, where is the best place to get a replacement?

I await the forum's sage advice...

Well I moved mine personally from the old ride to the new and haven't (crossed fingers) any bad consequences.

The best replacements come from a friend. Gotta be a gift !

Everything you ever wanted to know about them, and probably way too much.

The Bell legend doesn't say if you can or can not move a bell from bike to bike, Based on the story behind the Bell, Yes, you can, as long as the center hammer still moves around as this is what scares of the gremlins by #1, Sound and #2 they try to hold onto it, but it's swaying so much they can not.

I would say, based on the legend, yes you can.

I think you're safe with the bell but I know for a fact deer whistles won't work if you move them from one ride to another!

I always leave the bell as a gift for the new owner. Chances are no will buy them one and when everyone hears about your caring generosity they will buy you a nice new shiny one.

Isn't it just easier to ditch the belief in the Supernatural?

....deer whistles won't work....
Should have just left it at that.

They might work if they are located where air/wind enters them directly from the front. Not having a wind tunnel to test them its hard to determine if they will ever work. I have seem them placed in some cosmeticly nice locations that may never get air.....

Sorry for the rant....
