Not these days, no Sir, it's not!! It actually costs people a whole lot of time and money!!!

If you're gonna sell stuff on here... Take Paypal!!

I just got through buying some stuff from a member on here. Who shall remain nameless!

He just thought it was "OK" that I spent an hour lining up in Wally world, only to find out that it was gonna cost me $11 just for the privilige of sending him the money, and after that, I find out that I can only pay for the whole thing by cash or debit.

I'm thinking "this only gets better, don't it?"........

If you can sign up for this forum, you can also sign up for Paypal !!!!

Do the right thing people!!! :wtf:

Feel better?
Sparky, Paypal charges the recipient. Why would a seller agree to get hit again just to sell you his parts?
If you want his part, and chances are if the seller is on this forum, it's probably a real good price that he's giving you, then bite the bullet and pay him the way he wants.
Or you could go to one of those new fangled places called a 'post office' and send him a USPS money order. Wonderful place, they even sell stamps there.

Hey! ya know what? I offered to send the guy my payment as a gift, which as you should know, is free, through Paypal, but he refused it, due to the above mentioned, and directed me to the Walmart thing.
And if you knew his management applauded post, (which you may) you'd know that his stuff ain't that cheap, my guess is that this guy has been surfing ebay to be that close on cost!..................... Sparky!!!!
If you don't like the price and payment terms you just move on.
Very simple..:readit:

The payment terms where not as they are now, when I threw my hat in, they have changed since then, it's just that you can't tell when someone has edited thier post these days!

I agree.
Most forums show the date of the last edit on a post and the total number of edits.

That needs changing.:lash:

I've been caught a couple of times when I ask for more information.

The post/title gets edited then a few days later someone sh-ts on me for not reading.

If you feel the member in question was being dishonest then please report it to a moderator/administrator.
I had a similar issue on the this forum. The member had PayPal but didn't want to use it for this transaction....... He too mentioned charges by PayPal, however based on the dollar amount and if sent as a gift there are no charges. In my case, I did say forget it, he was asking to much for it to begin with.....
I agree.

I can see his edit times: Last edited by caxxxxx; 11-29-2012 at 06:28 PM. Reason: Update

I can see it when I go back and look at post that I have made in the thread. Not sure if you can see them normal view.

Edit: Just checked and yes, the edite time does appear in normal view as it should now at the bottom of this post.
I agree, chilidawg. there have been several times that I have passed on buying an item because they did not accept paypal.
I actually think PayPal works pretty darn good. I have used it on numeras occasions. Do the transaction as a gift and the fees are waved... Just my opinion...
I have a few rules I go by for buying or selling here.
I do not buy from or sell to newbys, tried that both ways.
I will take any form of payment in US dollars but will not go out of my way i.e. going to western union for money.
I will pay any way you want except going to western union to send money.
Nothing is sent until I get payment unless it is someone I know personally or feel like I know them from conversations on the forum.

But you filled in the reason for the edit.

If you leave that blank then there's no indication that the post has been edited.

Check post #5 which I edited by adding a period.
When I sell stuff on other forums I charge the shipping + PayPal fees
payments

whatever forum i'm looking at if they dont accept paypal i move on. i always pay using paypal gift "ALWAYS" and have never been asked too, i just do it.:claps:
If you don't know about the gift option it can make it rough. Sold a ford Van and all transactions were as gift. No money lost via paypal. I think you are running into ignorance and getting PO'd about it.
Hi there
It seems that you have some complaints about what I accept as payment.
Let's get our facts straight before you start badmouthing me to the other members on the site.
You asked me if I took Paypal and I told you no. Money order only.
"YOU"choose to send the money via wire at Walmart/Not me.I was willing to wait for a money order and then send out the parts. And no I have no intention of taking Paypal.
I also told you I would update my ad so there would be no confusion as to what I accept as payment.
I can post all the PMs if you want.
As to being technology challenged that is my choice.
Just to set the record straight.
I have no idea what/how PP operates in merchandise vs gift . I have used the gift method ,at other times I have just added a few bucks to hopefully cover the cost so the seller is covered .
I think the best way would be the seller calculate the PP cost and add it to price , purchaser use the merchandise payment method . Then everyone is legit .

PP does provide a service , should they be ripped off ? Its actually generous of them to allow the free " gift " method ,as there "handling cost" are the same in either situation.

I can attest to his trustworthiness, while y'all were griping i was buying all the parts off him i could(approx 80% of the plastics), and i will continue to work with or buy parts off him so your loss is my gain :raspberry:
I would say make contact directly with the person selling prior to buying. That way you know exactly what they want. If they change it after talking to you personally or in a messege, then back out and don't buy it.
