It's one thing to be an idiot, quite another to speak up and prove it. but....

I misread the label about fork pressure and put 30psi in the front forks. Just to stiffen them up a bit.. you know?? Well, they were stiff.. for awhile, now they have no air and very little oil apparently.. running thru the gears is like riding a bronco...

I put 3 psi in tonight.. smooth ride home, dont know if it will stay. I'm open to suggestions for repair path.. Thanks in advance

I don't think your seals are leaking then. Pop off the dust covers and clean everything up. Then watch them for a couple of days. If they are leaking, oil will start running down the fork tubes within about three hundred miles.

On the other hand, if you need 3 lbs. of air in the shocks, you're springs may be sacked.
my springs are shot, so they behave the same.. way too much movement. but i did notice that after a refresh of seals and fluid they are at least a decent ride.. i would vote for not enough fluid. but i would also advise to rebuild them.. and if you are going to rebuild them.. do more than i did.. do progressive springs and new seals.. i just did the rear,, and now I REALLY see the difference in the front, and now i have to take them apart again.
my advice: even if not leaking your springs are weak. replace, new seals, fluid. you will be happy.
