I work in the repair industry, so I'd NEVER accuse someone of faulty installation.......
What type of stem was it?

The last time I had my tires changed at the Honda dealer and asking why they didn't change the valve stems I was told there was no need as the stem doesn't bend like in a car rim.

The rear stem failed about six months later.

I was later at the Yamaha dealer and asked about their policy on changing stems with tires and was told that they use to ask but gave up as no one would pay the extra couple of dollars for a new stem.:wtf:

So it pays to ask for new stems every time you have someone else change a tire for you.
+1 If you don't ask, you won't get them. If you don't get them, you have no one to blame but yourself. You didn't ask.

You guys sure make a lot of assumptions.
He "thought" a new one installed?
You assume he did have a new one installed.
You assume he didn't have a new one installed.
His statement was the tire and the stem were replaced 300 miles ago.
Interestingly enough, he's made this one post and not replied to any of the questions.
Until he does.......you can continue to assume your collective........
