Iced Tea.
The Irish drink more tea (or Tay)per head than any other country. There was an attempt to launch Iced Tea here about 15 years ago but it flopped.

I like it both ways but drinking hot beverages in the summer don't appeal.

Apart from all American food being so full of sugar?

Peanut butter and banana sandwiches.

Big macs

Root beer.

I like them all, but they are still wired.

The things that caught me off guard were the sprinklers coming on to water the lawns, in England we had trenches to take off the water without loosing the topsoil!

And the upside-down light switches.

We were disappointed with the quality of the food in the chain restaurants in the USA. For some reason I assumed that it would be better than it was.
Didn't think that grits were good, nor the biscuits and gravy thing.
Much preferred the food served in the independent restaurants, even what one would call fast food is so much nicer from them.

Our "warm beer" is in fact not really warm, it is served at, or just below, room temperature and only applies to "proper beer", like bitter or stout. We still chill lager which is very popular over here, especially with younger drinkers.
Chilling a nice brew of Tanglefoot, Spitfire, or Bishops Finger, would be very wrong and would spoil the flavour.

Well I do understand the beer temps , I do agree .
Our biscuits and gravy are from the poor menus from the south. If you put lots of sausage in the gravy its really good . Folks have a way of making something to eat out of what ever they had, flour and bacon grease etc.
I like tomato gravy ( not italian tomato sauce as it is called "gravy" in New York etc.) it's a southern thing and even rarely heard of down here. It will change your mind about biscuits and gravy if you ever had it made right.
Fast food is a disappointment. But some are improving.. "Chick Filet" is about the best .
But I hear that chain "Little Chef" in the Uk is terrible.

Baloney is about the same as a hotdog , I rarely eat either myself.
I think the Full Engish
breakfast sound great but I don't think I'd like the beans in the am.
you have to understand without grits the south would have starved many different time during our history, if for no other reason we still hold onto them fast because it got us all thru some poor times.
If I cooked you my BBQ Shrimp and creamy Grits I'm sure you would love it. grits are bland and have to be doctored up . Plain they are rather tasteless. Like eating plain white rice without gravy or butter or a sauce.
