Handle Bars on a GL1100-Anyone tried something other than stock?

My bars have a slight and very un-noticable bend on the right side. I can't tell and neither can anyone else when just looking at it from off the bike. But when I ride it I can tell theres a slightly more pullback on the right about maybe 1/4". Probably due to it falling over last year when I parked in the gravel and didn't realize the kickstand was on a small rock. It didn't do any damage to anything other than the bars, but it urks the hell out of me.

So I'm going to hunt down another perfect stock set, but came across a nice set I had in the garage for an old Shadow 7/8" left over from 2 years ago.

Has anyone tried different pullback on the GL1100 or 1200?? Rise is the same for the Shadow but width is about 4" narrower(2" on each side) and I noticed this brisky morning that the wind coming off the fairing clips my hands. Its the only thing that gets cold on my wing when winter gets here. The Shadow bars would get them within the fairing range to knock the windchill off. Just curious here guys since I was gonna replace the bars I thought I might check into it. JR

OK.I'll answer my own question.:dude:
Put on the set of bars I bought 3 years ago for my 85 VT Shadow from Bike Bandit. Had about 1" more rise. Feels good though and moved my hands inward about 3" which is enough to get it within the deflection of the wind.

I'm gonna get me a set of those bars, how much were those bad boy's and were the cables long enough?

I'm thinking about $29 back about 2 1/2 years ago. 7/8" will fit the Kaw LTD and others.Buckhorn I believe they're called. Cable was just barely long enough on the clutch.Throttle side was no problem on mine.

I like those highway pegs, where did you get them? thanks

The highway pegs I mixed together from a cheap set that had HONDA ontop,i removed those pegs. I had some highway bars from the shadow and removed those chrome pegs because they looked much nicer and they bolted right onto the mounts. They just flip up.
