I brought a new hangar queen home tonight, I bought a 1982 Aspy, pretty sad shape but cheap. Guy partially dismantled it and then left it under a tarp for the past year, no way to treat a once fine old lady. Going to make this a winter project and see how close to new it can look. Maybe it will break even or make a slight profit, can't be the loss leader the last airplane was. I don't have the energy to take pictures like Gambler but I'll post a few from time to time to show how it's going. Probably won't start on it until late October, the weather hasn't gone to pot yet, gotta ride! When this one is finished it's not going to be the two tone brown that's on it now, it'll be a GREEN MACHINE, just like my old 1200, metallic Ford Jade Green!
Nothing like a winter project to keep you out of mischief eh Exavid?

When you brought it home did you get the Wife raising her eyes skyward in that "Oh no, not another pile of junk" look? And did you tell the kids and get that stock answer..."Yeah, whatever Dad"

How cold does Washington get?

Sometimes I just take it for granted that we can ride all year here. Rarely gets below 10 degrees celsius and rarely gets above 35 degrees celsius. Gets wet and windy though.

I've got some things i want to do to my old girl (no pete I'm not talking about Kathrine) but I can't bear the thought of taking it of the road. And I only have room in the shed for 1 bike.

(ps, I'm logged on with my laptop so will be interested to see if I post this twice)

Andrew
Don't know what you are infering Andrew, I think it more likey that Kathrine would be sorting you out!!

Looks like you have stopped repeating yourself with the change of computer.

Yes okay, no need to rub it in on the weather thing, the nights are closing in here, and the rain is around and the temperatures are dropping. Oh well, mustn't complain, we had a reasonable summer whilst it lasted.

No, the woman who hangs around here went with me to pick it up and helped unload it from the trailer. After these many years together she's pretty well inured to such and after many restoration projects of boats, airplanes, houses and now bikes she knows there will always be something. I think she's hoping I that if I have a heart attack and die it will be after the latest project is completed.
3rd line down first word, should that not read - Injured or preferably insured!!:goofygrin:

Yes, they are good like that, Helen is the same, I think they feel some satisfaction, in the fact that we are at least not squandering the $$$£££ down in the pub, or gambling etc. Plus they have the added bonus that they know exactly where we are, so can be called upon for those little jobs when necessary. Plus of course, the insurane claim would be easy to fill out, if we keel over and pop our clogs!!:goofygrin:
