Thanks to everyone on this board. I just signed up and looked for a solution to my headlight problem and found the answer on this board. The headlight was intermittent, moving the starter button and the light came on was a clue that the starter button was going bad. I tried the WD-40 approach only to mess the switch up worse. Have acquired a new one thru Ebay and will try it on Monday night to install.

Thanks to all,
Jeff

Welcome to the forum, Jeff. Maybe I was little premature in saying your headlight problem was fixed, but I'm trying to be optimistic. :action:. Let us know for sure.

Welcome, Jeff!

Like others have said, this is a great forum. Having belonged to other (payment necessary) GW forums, I can honestly say this is the BEST!!!

And....that's a pretty 1100 you have! I always have liked the grey/silver. I had a 2-toned brown 82...kinda wish I still had it in addition to my 1500. Of course, I wish I had one of EVERY type of motorcycle I see! I'm a junkie!!

Well Mike,

You were correct as the problem of the headlight has been resolved. It took much longer than I expected due to the difficulty of reaching the box holding all the wiring harness. Ended up being about a two hour job from start to finish. Working in the darkness of my driveway probably lenghten the time considerably.

On to the next problem, I will do some research before asking questions that have already been answered. When cold, battery will not start it, needs a jump. Brand new battery left on trickle charger overnight would not start it this morning. After it is warm, it will hesistate when I hit the starter button and then most of the time start to turn faster and start.

Thanks for all the help and if I can't find my answers I will start another post.

Jeff
