Does anyone know where I can get a female 5 Pin connector for the connection under the left fairing pocket? I'm not worryed about a junction box right now as the other person who lives here doesn't ride with me that much. I checked with the local Radio Shack and that part has been discontinued. There's no other electronics stores in my area. My best bet right now is the internet.

Thanks, D**k

You will find one on the back of any old PC. Same connecter was used for old style keyboards. I would check the stock at Radio Shack your self. I have bought them resently. Radio Shack experts often don't know what they have in inventory or what the inventory is for. But then if they knew there subject well they would work in a better paying field.

If you need the DIN connector and wire, try finding a PC keyboard extension cord for the older PC's with the larger plug. Just cut off the end you don't need.

While 25 years of riding and fixing rides does not qualify me as a Wing Guru. 30 years of Rearranging 1 and 0's and there associated hardware does qualify me and a cumputer Guru. But just to be sure I went to PC bone pile to find an old keyboard and then because I was holding the keyboard with both hands I pulled off my left shoe ( right foot won't work only 4 toes on that foot). Yep 5 pin Din just like I remembered.

Thanks Tricky,

thats exactly the part I was looking for. I had allready found some stuff to cobble up a connector cord at www.allelectronics.com. When it gets here if it won't work I'll order from your place.

Hey Tricky,

Well the parts arrived this afternoon from All Electronics and the female DIN connector that I had ordered won't work . It's a 5 pin but the pin holes are spaced just enoughfurther apart that it won't mate. So, I've ordered a connector from your web site. I'm going to have enough invested in shipping charges that I could've bought the whole assembly from Honda. O' well, it'sonly money.

I went to Radio Shack and bought a MIDI cable. Works fine. Has all the needed wires and fits the plug.

I cutone in half and soldered a mini 1/8" RCA plug on so I can plug it directly into my MP3 player instead of going through my bikes sound system. The MIDI connector plugs into my helmet speakers from EdSets. The plug does match the wings connector also.

My '85 1200A intercom uses the same 5 pin DIN as old PC keyboards. I used an extension and it had all 5 wires. It also had the plug molded on the wires for a better looking finish, plus a few less wires to solder. Some other intercoms do use the smaler DIN plugs.
