About two months ago I bought a pair of headsest from http://www.edsets.com . A full face for the wife, and open face for me. I can't compare the quality of the sound to any other sets, but once I get my wife to stop mumbling, I can hear her just fine. I'm conviced its a problem with the wife, not the headsets!

Last week the boom broke on my open face, and I just emailed Ed. Quick as a flash he's offered to preplace the boom mic.

So to summarize:
  • Cheaper than other headsets,
  • Sound quality is very good,
  • Customer service is outstanding
In case anyone was interested.

Ditto. I have J&M in my helmet and Edset in my wifes. Hers sound much better.

According to Ed the Edset speakers won't be trashed if you turn the volume too high which can happen to the J&M.

And, one thing I've found the closer youget them to your ears, the better they sound. I've got mine touching my ears (makes taking the helmet on and off a little tricky, but not to bad) and they sound almost as good as my stereo headset at home.

BTW, for the record, I own two sets, mine and my wife.

I'm a bit late on this, but here's my 2 cents worth anyway; Edsets rock, great sound and good prices. I also make sure they are mounted as close to my ears as possible by donning my helmet and tapping where my ears are, then marking the spot on the outside. That way I can get the speakers right where I want them and the sound is much better.

I don't know if they are avilable in the UK, but if they are you can be sure that the dealers like muggingyards etc will charge at least 2.5 times the price that you can get them directly from the USA.

Good question. The number I am seeing is NOT cheap when compared to say "chatterbox" kits

I know what you mean, the ones that I find are also higher than the J&M headsets:

Here are J&M's for $85.00 per set. Model for Full Face:

or Model for Open Face:

Edsets come in the basic and more expensive versions. The basic one is great value and outperforms teh JM sets that are twice the price.

Can you provide a link to the "basic" version. One that includes a boom mike.

Thanks

I am sorry, but I don't see howanyone can say thatthe Edsets are less expensive than J&M, unless you are looking at something that I cannot see.

The cheapestheadset I see is the Simple Sonics. These are $109.00 and do no include a microphone. A boom mic is another $50.00.

Can someone please provice a part number or a link to the page where a complete Edset can be purchased for less than $85.00? I'd love to get in on this!!!!!

GWNorm, your post says: "The basic one is great value and outperforms the J&M sets that are twice the price." What are you looking at? I do not find a single headset on the site that is $42.50 in price. (1/2 the cost of the J&M headsets)

Can you please provide a link to this great value?

I don't know where the $85 version is either. I paid the going rate of $159 for the "Sonic-Boomer". However, I'm very please with the product, and consider the money well spent.

Hey L8ndeb, I agree, the going rate and the "cheapest" set up I can find on Edsets.com is $159.00 for the Sonic Boomer. This appears to me to be their "value model" of headsets. I am just wondering how anyone can say that that price is 1/2 the cost of a J&M headset, unless they are comparing to the J&M Elite sets which are $229.00 each. Even if they are doing thisthe Edsetis still not 1/2 the cost of a J&M.

I still have yet to see anyone provide a link or part number for these "cheap" headsets. As far as I can tell, Edsets are the most expensive when compared to both J&M and Chatterbox. Maybe their quality is better that either J&M or Chatterbox, but as for cost, they are the more expensive of the three, unless someone can provide evidence that disputes this.
