While I currently have my ride tore down replacing T belts/Compu-Fire alternator/coolant/fork fluid and adding some accessories, I've been thinking on adding a heated grip kit from Dual Starto combat cold hands during shoulder season riding.

My question is - how effective are these kits under a set of Kuryakyn Iso grips and how durable are they, as there is the power cord on the throttle side grip that is subjected to all that twisting action during normal throttle operation. I realize you leave slack in the power cord for that, but how fragile are they??? :baffled: :?

Appreciate responses from those that actually use these types of grip heater kits, as I'm not interested in the actual heated grips themselves, as I don't like the feel of them.

I have installed three sets on three different bikes over the years, though not the same brand. (first two sets came from Aerostich, the current set came from Electrical Connection) All three sets were installed under Kury Iso Grips, and they are fantastic. The amount of twist at the throttle is not as much as one would think.

I did have one set fail, but it had nothing to do with the throttle movement, I allowed a wire to get kinked near the triple tree.

Definitely worth the money.

I don't have them but a friend does, the EC brand anyway and they work great. I'm going to get myself some before next winter.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll order myself a pair and let you know how I get on with them.

For sure Bob!

Actually, I have been looking at a couple places not toofar from you(Delta, Cardinal) :waving:

Although not pratical for house buying, the Internet does give you an idea of what's out there.

I'm also looking at places in SW Ontario, as well.

Guess I'll order those heated grips in the next couple of days, then

Sure Dusty, they are both nice places, small & quiet, Delta has a nice little park on Beverly Lake & Cardinal is right on the St Lawrence River. :waving:
