Hi Clive, you must be the guy that emailed me and I replied to this morning. Can't be too many Cumbrian Clives who need an engine for a trike! As I sent you here, let me be the first to welcome you and beat all the others to it. This has got to be the best wing site in the world with loads of Gurus to help you out. they have a wealth of knowlage and are happy to dish it out for free. Now it might take a while to get responses, the yanks are either asleep or at work, but they will no doubt welcome you and make you feel at home. Watch out for Redwing, he is an Irishman who has eyes like a hawk and will soon spot your arrival on the site, don't take any stick from him, he is under the illusion that red goldwings are faster than other colours. :goofygrin:I sincerily hope that someone quickly picks up and finds you that engine, and if you get stuck throwing it in the trike, there are fellows here who can do it blindfolded!

Enjoy finding your way around the site and if you are good with the computer, you can probably help me!!

That sounds very Royal- "Clive of Cumbria" I should use that if I were you, but if you have kids, my what mongrels they are! Yorkie father, Brummy mother with Irish blood, I can see them now, red hair, black eyes and wellies and a flat cap!. I have lived in Bum and York, near the chocolate factory and in Haxby. Loved every minute of the north and wouldn't hesitate to go again.

Blimey, aren't you the one, hoping to have two engines, still not as posh as the guys over the pond, most of them have 2 or more wings, mind you some of them seem to like to ride naked sometimes!! I have just the one 1500 myself and it is apparently "Commodore Blue" according to a learned gentleman on this site. This of course is not a fast racey colour, more your serene glide along colour, but I suspect Redwing will have something to say about speed and colour before the night is out. I think you can pretty much get away with saying anything you like to him, he apparently only has an old RED niffty 50, so I doubt he'll catch up with a BLACK trike!

That's it Rebuilt, get stuck in!! Told you that some guys here have a thing about the colour and speed of their bike.

If you had moved south I would have been happy to have given you some time getting the engine sorted, but trust you to go North.

Mind you the RED supporters are right at the moment, cuz yours is broke and mine is stripped down inthe workshop, but wait til wereback on the tarmac eh!!

Go on mate give the "old Gits sum stick!! And Redwing recons I've got a soapbox, well just look at his and Exavids postings, boy do they get hot under the collar about subjects!!:action::action:

Hey RebuiltYorkie :leprechaun: Who is getting huffy with you. Just give me their name and i will organise with the wingnut to have him/her disciplined. :clapper:

:weightlifter::18red::weightlifter:
ooooh you are awful, but I like you!!

Actually, I used to ride with the Surrey wings many years ago and one of them owned one of Dick Emery bikes.

Only too happy to have given you a place to vent your frustrations, what with bike off road an all Rebuilt. Yes good solid fellows Yorkies, not sure about the Lancs boys tho, bit touchy about the colour of their roses if I recall?

Now about this dicipline thing, shall I get the furry handcuffs out of mothballs?

Oh BenMC you have put me in a spot here, I have Rebuilt as an alliy since he got here, but my bike is blue aswell, can't we just accept that dark ones are faster than red and other light wishy washy colours?:baffled:

I will have to leave you to ponder that and other world affecting policies, cuz it is time to go up the apples and pears to bed ( well I would, but I live in a bungalow)

Catch you all later and good luck with the engine probs Rebuilt.

When I was in the Army, we all had our suspicions about sailors at sea all that time!
Well founded suspicions exavid, we spent all our time, fishing for bass, playing harps and drinking beer. ( for explaination, see other posting):grinner:

How can you safely pass Red Goldwings? It is becoming a serious problem.

Hey Brojees, I am sorry but is your bike running rough or something at the moment, why are you having to overtake red bikes? Surely you always start and finish in front, since you ride a black bike:baffled::cooldevil::cooldevil::goofygrin::goofygrin:. My problem has always been worrying what I might bump into whilst looking over my shoulder for red bikes.:clapper::clapper::clapper:

Tht explains it Bojees, I was worried for a moment. I only drink coffee so haven't had to do all that overtaking stuff before.:baffled::goofygrin:.

Had a conversation with some folks only yesterday about how British comedy lacks the charecters like Morcombe and Wise, and the two Ronnies these days and also how American humour is lost on me or leaves me flat. Today, I have suddenly worked out why, the best comedy acts are too busy posting on here to have time for television!!:goofygrin::goofygrin::goofygrin::goofygrin:

If everyone swithed the goggle box off and came to this site on their computer, they would be splitting their sides, on both sides of the pond, as well as on the :leprechaun:Island in between. Many of you will recall the long winded stories that little Ronnie Corbett told from the comfort of his chair, well this is just like those meanderings, twisting and turning with no real relevence to the origional starting point.

I would hazard a guess that less than 25% of subjects discussed , ever stick to the point in hand. Someone from here should write sketches for the new comediens, the ratings would rocket.

Maybee to ride a Wing requires a warped sense of humour, and all the boring sensible people go off and buy other bikes, a survey should be done, and we should all be sycoanalized or whatever it is.

This site deffinately brightens my day!;):cooldj::goofygrin::waving::clapper::grinner::):dude:

To be sure and they brighten your day!

By the way speaking of seats, those air pads....How do you blow them up? I had an idea, but wondered if it might be corrosive.

careful Brojees, I tried blowing up my air seat, whilst on the move and ended up crashing my bike whilst I had me head between my legs!!. I get the girlfriend to do it now and it's much safer!!:goofygrin:

Hey wannabee, have you actually joined to talk Wings, if so, what colour bike have you got? don't matter what model or it's condition, the preoccupation here is to agree that the black ones are fastest and the red a little slower.

I think we can take it as read that you have a sense of humour, because like me you will have perused the postings before making comment and will have noticed that most of the fellows here are jokers, either that or, just, a joke!!:goofygrin:

Look into my eyes! Now I am going to count down from 5-1 and when I reach 1, you will see the fastest colour on the screen.

I wish to retract my earlier statements on Black being the fastest colour, :blushing:

I place before you evidence that RED IS indeed the fastest colour.

Red, the fastest colour[or should that be infra red?]

Why, it asked, do "reds, oranges and yellows...seem to grab our attention while blues, indigos and violets are more reserved"?

The answer will come as a surprise to many: "This is due to the speed at which each colour travels towards the eye - reds, being produced by short-wave light, travel very quickly while blues are long waves which proceed more slowly."

Presumably, speculates Angela Cotton who spotted this, infrared has an even shorter wavelength and travels even faster to make us hot, while ultraviolet is longer and slower, giving it more time to interact and cause skin and eye damage.

Er, was that me or BB that you were calling a fool Redwing? Couldn't have been both, as you used the singular! Actually it can't have been BB 'cuz he isn't a fool, just barkin' mad, so it must have been me. Oh well, that is one of the nicest things anyone has ever called me, thanks.:crying:
