I started riding four years ago on a 1975 Honda CB550. I bought it as a way to combat the high gas prices. What I did not expect, was to fall in love with riding.
I put 4500 miles on that first summer, and another 1500 by the time I sold it in May, 2007. I bought a brand new 2007 V Star 1300 tourer, and that bike was my passion.
Over the next two years I modded and customized that thing to make it more comfortable and enjoyable for the long rides.
Coming back home from Tennessee last month, I was stopped for the night at a hotel. 2:30am my beloved "Black Pearl" was hit and drug through the parking lot.
I got her ridable and home, only to find out she'd had $6300 in damage. The insurance company totalled her out.
Getting insurance squared away last week, I spent the weekend looking at Goldwings.
Monday night, I brought one home.
A 1997 1500 SE.
It's been raining since that night, but it hasn't stopped me from commuting on the new bike. And so far so good! It performs really well.
