The handlebar locking pin has become jammed. The ignition switch will have to be removed and repaired. It looks like the instrument cluster will have to come off and then the upper triple tree. Both PITA operations. Any shortcuts? Thanks. Richard

I managed to get mine out in a few minutes. Once you remove the fairing, or at least removing the bolts, and letting it fall forward, resting on the front fender, you should have plenty of room to get at the 2 bolts holding the switch in.

I also turned the wheel all the way to the left to gain as much access to the right side under the cluster.

I found it worked better to go the extra mile and take the faring right off. This gave me easy access to all of the other nuts and bolts so that I could make sure that everything was all torqued up for the soon-to-be-here 2009 riding season.

You don't need to touch the triple tree. I think the fairing and clocks are all you need remove.
