Help! Turn Signal Problem?

Hi,
I have a left turn signal problem on my 2004 GL1800. I'll try to explain it as simple as I can;
The left turn signal light is staying on "solid" (not blinking) when not in use. In all three; mirror, tail light and the turn signal indicator in the dash.
With that being said, when I use the turn signal switch, it flashes "normal." It also cancels normal. Once canceled, the left turn signal lights go back to staying on solid.I checked both, the mirror & tail light bulbs which are ok.
When I turn on the hazard signal switch, the hazard light's "won't flash." All the light's left & right will flash "if" I turn on the left signal switch.
I hope this isn't too confusing. I do have a Honda Shop manual in which it speaks of diodes, but nothing in regards to a flasher.
Also, I would like to add that I was on a three week trip in which the last week consisted of a lot of rain. This is when the problem started. The bike has been dry now for four days, therefore I don't believe it's a water issue. In addition, both bulbs (mirror & tail light) were completely dry when I removed them. With both bulbs "removed" from the sockets, the dash light still remains to stay lit solid. Upon turning on the left turn signal with both bulbs removed, the left turn signal dash light flashes fast. These are the only two bulbs used as turn signals for the left side.
It may very well be a diode problem. After looking in the shop manual, it appears that the front fairing will have to be removed to reach it. It appears that there are two diodes one for the turn signal with the other one for the hazard signal. On the other hand, could this be a diode problem due to the turn signal flashing properly once the switch is activated? I don't know.
It's hard to believe that it's the turn signal switch due to it working and canceling properly.
If you know of a fix for this problem or have experienced this problem could you please pass it on to me? Your help would sincerely be appreciated! Thanks in advance, Ray

When the lights stay on, are they as bright as when they are flashing? I ask this because it sounds like your runnng light power is bleeding into your flasher circut. You could have a wire touching somewhere like under your seat!

Hi,

:banana:problem Resolved!!
First and most importantly, a BIG THANKS to you for your help!
:blushing:Now the embarrassing part......... I do have side Kuryakyn running lights on my fender wheel covers, I forgot about them being turn signals as well. Yep, the left one was fried. Replaced it and now all is well.
It's nice to know that if I ever do have a turn signal problem other than the one I had I will know of a few things to look for. Thanks again for your time and help. Ray
