Help with electrics 0n my 1983 Aspencade

266 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  glhonda
Started my 83 Aspencade and there was a loud bang. It was not a backfire. All the electrics went out. Changed the main 30AMP fuse at the positive end of the battery. still no electrics except the radios. they work. No starter no lights no instrument panel no break lights. --nothing.
Can some one help me on this.

Hi Casey and welcome to the forum. Your description sounds like something is fried. Since you have replaced the main fuse and only got part of the system back up, I would check the ignition switch next. If you don't have a good manual (Honda) you will need to get one. Keep asking questions and the nice folks here on the forum will help you get through it.
I believe it blew a flux capacitor!!!!!!;)

Seriously, check the battery connections.

I've never heard of a flux capacitor failing on an 1100. They're rock solid. It was the '77 gl1000 that had that issue.:readit:
