Hey! What's the plan? List of activities?

I've only been to a couple of rallies before, both Goldwing Touring Association types.....

So what happens at Nassir 2?

Is there a list of activities? Meetings? Social gatherings? Rides?

This is probably a dumb post, but I don't wanna look like the total Rube I am when Red and Iblow into town.....!

Good question Cousin Jack, I don't think there is any plans as of yet .We still have a good month to go,nothing like waiting until the last minute.the problem is no one wants to step up and take charge. (including me) .Every week more and more cancellations, I think people are losing interest. where are all these people that voted to have it in Montrose? Thats all I have to say about that.:gunhead:

I think lack of funding has caused most of the cancels. I am still planning on going, but there won't be many luxuries. Lots of camping and oatmeal.

All I wanna do, is make the trip getting there. If all we do is eat oatmeal and go riding in those mountains, I'll be happy as a pig in sh,,,,,,um,,,, mud:action:.

Although there was plenty organized at Calhoun a lot of enjoyable time was had in the evenings at the hotel shooting the breeze and getting to know each other.
We shall make do and enjoy what ever comes along.

Oatmeal!

Gawdamighty, I hate oatmeal!

And tell me, Winger, how come a nation that can send men and women into space can't make an oatmeal that tastes like corn beef hash? Oreven like fried potatoes and onions?

Oatmeal, gruel of the devil.........!

(p.s. I'll eat oatmeal with ya, buddy... and go ridin' in the mountains, too!)

I'm spending the whole week there, lucky to have saved up the hotel fee long ago.

I'm going to be happy just being able to meet all the forum members, regardless of the campgrounds, or the hotel lobby.

I am still planning to be there monday evening thru friday morning , at Ceder Creek . With my bum elbow I wont have a bike ride .I just hope the Dr will release me in time for the trip. Maybe I will follow along the rear in a car . I think There were plans for a ride out each day , adjustable perhaps to the mood of the group .

I do feel the downturn in the economy has a lot of folks rethinking there plans and funding :(. A lot has turned sour for folks since the Vote/planning was made.

Unfortunately as others have mentioned, the state of the economy has taken it's toll. For me it's been more of a culmination of life's circumstances that have messed up my finances, with a touch of the lousy economy adding to it. I have not officially cancelled yet, still holding on to hope that I can swing it somehow, but I wouldn't want to volunteer for anything and then not be able to show up to fulfill my obligation. There may be others in the same boat.

That said, for me not organizing any of it would be fine. Come up with ideas while we're there and go with them. I know a lot of people want to ride the great roads of the area, me included, and I think swampfoxcwshas that part handled. I would be perfectly thrilled with just taking in the sites during the day and hanging out with our forum friends in the evening doing whatever or nothing. :)

Yes folks .I am afraid to say a lot of the folk who voted and decided to make Montrose the venue and the dates are now not going .:X:X

It is a bit annoying to say the least as we could have held it closer to the folks who are actually coming ,.But these things happen ,. No need to plan any runs etc as it will all fall into place on the day .The area I have been told is fantastic and it should not be a problem finding some nice roads and scenery and in the evening we will entertain ourselfs with tall stories ,,the taller the better :D:D.

So relax and enjoy the company ,, Ciaran

Who besides StevenRose & fysty-1from the West have cancelled? I know of6 from the Eastoff the top of my head. I also know there had to be some from the East that voted for Montrose. The population of members in the West is not high enough compared with the East to carry the vote without some from the East joining in. :baffled:

As for me, I'm doing everything possible to make it to Montrose, that's why I haven't cancelled yet. I'm going to be very sad if I can't make it work.

Tracy and I had to back out due to my work forcing everyone to use their vacation early to allow for the business to pickup in the fall and not have to worry about covering everyones vacation with overtime:shock:We voted on Montrose and I wish we could make it but there is always next year god willing and the creek don't rise to far:action:

Don't worry CJ, I'm sure I can find something to keep you from being bored! :waving: :cooldevil:

I should be arriving in Montrose on the Monday and staking out my camping spot at Cedar Creek Campgrounds. (Those who are camping, have made your reservations at Cedar Creek Campgrounds, .... right!?!?!?? )

I have 1 or 2 rides I have an eye on, although Imight participate in only 1 group ride at most, preferring to either ride solo, or in a small group of 2-4 other riders. Other than that, the rest of the time will be spent listening to some tall tales being spun, ( might even spin a few myself! ;)) checking out other members rides/modifications and generally just enjoying the whole affair and camaraderie. :cooler:

From past experience, it will be over all too quickly :( ... and another chapter of the adventure begins as Ponymanr and I do some exploring together after the event and eventually make our way back east. :action:

Too bad for y'all who planned on attending, buthave been bitten badby the downturn of the economy! :X:shakehead::crying:
