Hi all,

I'm new on here, located in New South Wales- Australia.

I got a ride on a '97 Goldwing SE during the week and am interested in getting hold of one.

Is there an Australian Regional section on this forum? [and if so, does anyone in Oz have a Wing for sale?]

I've been on bikes for over 40 years and currently own an '09 Wee-Strom and a '94 Kawasaki KLE500.

Previous bikes include Honda CB900F, BMW K100RT, BMW R1150GS and around 13 others over the years.

Cheers,
Ock. [aka Steve]

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Closest respondent to me so far is in "Brisvegas", some 1,300km away, just a short ride for a 'Wing, not even what I'd consider a big ride on my Suzuki V-Strom DL650A for that matter.

I look forward to reading ride reports and viewing photos from the Goldwing owners on here.

And I will update my profile when I get time as well.

Some of you may then even recognise me from some of my posts on Stromtrooper (many Strom owners have multiple bikes of varied styles/brands), and I'm on ADVrider as well, where there are also some 'Wing owners I've noticed.

I was going to buy the '97 SE I rode last week, but the deal fell over when the dealership offered me a stupidly low price for my trade in while still holding their full asking price for the 'Wing. :wtf:

My search is now on for a private purchase, unless I find a dealership that has one and is more realistic on prices. :readit:

Cheers,
Ock.

G'Day Mate! Welcome to the Saunders Goldwing Forum from Minnesota, USA!

Well I see people here are not afraid to put emoticons in their posts (a former mod on Stromtrooper used to chide members for doing it at times :? ).

Should I mention I was looking to trade my one owner '09 Wee-Strom, in excellent condition with 67,500 km on it.... and the dealer offered me less than half what other people are getting for their older Stroms. :lash:

......
Anyway my search will continue, I was thinking I want a '97-ish SE, should I consider an Aspencade of similar age/condition?
Is there anything that makes the SE preferable/better than the Asp?
(hmmm, I think I better ask these questions on another section of the forum or I will be getting pinged by the Mods early in my "career" here, sorry).

Wolfman, nice to see a road sign that isn't full of bullet holes in your avatar. (ours are often used for target practice on country roads, ideal for testing pattern spread of 12 gauge shotguns too :ssshh: ).

Plenty on bikesales.com.au or just bikes.

Your just to late for me to help out as I sold mine 2 months ago.

Good luck finding one
Howdy and welcome to the forum! :waving:
