Hello, am new to the Wing world;my neighbour's health is failing and he is giving me his bike. He has seenmy garage full of beemers old and new and decided this isa good home for this bike. I'm a compentent home mechanic, lots of tools etc and am up for a new challenge. The bike has beenunder a tarpforat least seven years, he has never ridden it.Poor guy planned to go riding in retirement andan unexpected illness screwed that up. He thinks the engine is seized altho shifting into neutral the rear wheelturns over smoothly, will need to pull the plugs and bump it over to be sure. Apart from a torn seat, blown fork seals, rust on the chrome and in need of a good bath and polish it looks good. No signs of blow by on the heads, leaks on the carbs and no oil puddles under it. If the odometer is correct it only has 30K km and am sure I can bring it back to life. Will peruse this site forlists of aftermarket vendors for parts replacements/upgrades.

Hello and welcome from Arizona.

What a friendly bunch and thanks for the welcome! It is a 1980 standard model which is just right. My two beemers are RT models and it will be a nice change to see the front wheel turning again. I am going over to his house this evening to wheel it home to my garage.
