I'm looking for a pair of armored mesh riding pants. I purchased a pair of First Gear HyperTex but I find them too hot!

Has anyone got any recommendations for really cool pants for the really hot days?

I don't know what pants are better in hot weather, but don't forget,,,,,, you can always where shorts under them.

I have the Joe Rocket ego pants. (think thats the right name) Haven't gotten caught in real hot weather yet. High 70's low 80's ,,,,,, and the only time they felt a little too warm was when I would stop for a bit and didn't bother to take them off.

Ok,,,,,, found them,,,,,,,,

I use Draggin jeans. They aren't much different than regular jeans for wind penetration but have the skid protection built in.

I also wear a mesh Joe Rocket jacket and got my wife to sew a zipper to the back of the jeans to tie into the jacket. If you do slide you don't want the jacket to ride up on your back.

Firstgear HT Air 2.0 over pants are made to be worn over street clothes. How can adding pants be cooler? The sizing is all screwed up too if you want to wear them solo.

I'm using the "draggin Jeans" kevlar liners, plus hip and knee armor. That way Ican wear any pants I want over the top of them. They ain't cheap, but the convenience is worth it

ME TOO, PLEASE!

For some time now I've been on a hunt for some cool, light-weight, summer-only,mesh riding pants with armor.

Everything I have found is too heavy and too hot. If somebody has found some, I'd like to know as well.

Geezerglider,

Have you ordered from these guys before? I like the prices of the 4 season pants from Fieldsheer, but don't know anything about this company.

Yes, I recently bought a jacket from them. I'd rate them 5 star.

In the warmer weather here, I switch over to denim Cargo jeans. They are cutoffs just above the knee.

For me, they are the optimum summer wear. Lots of pockets for everything I have any use for, and with my mesh riding pants (ballistic models) I am cooler with the riding pants than riding w/o pants.

That may sound strange, but here in 115*F summer temps, and asphalt temps of 160*F+, add in the direct rays of the sun, those riding pants are a lot cooler.

Keeps the sun and the wickedly hot wind off of your skin. A spritz bottle of water does wonders for providing a/c on the road. Splash that water on your jacket and pants and you are cool for at least 15 minutes, then I just do it again.

I don't wear shorts while riding, the glare from my white legs is too blinding. During the summer I tend to wear my BDU's or ACU's in the heat.

I wear leathers even when it is hot. It's not bad. I just take the liner out of the chaps and use then as is leaving them a bit lose on the bottom to allow air.
