How do you get overspray off plastic light lens?

:waving:Hi, does any one know a good way to get paint off a rear light lens. Would white spirits damage the plastic? Thanks, Jim

Most of the time I use a little acetone and a white rag. In most cases it will do the trick and not damage the lens. Acetone evaporates really fast. It might take a little elbow grease but should do the trick. I hope this helps.

yea, the wd-40 will do the trick, keep the lense wet with it and eventually it will loosen up!

Knowing the type of paint would help. You want to disolve the paint but not the lens.

Rubbing alcohol works well too but it will strip all thge wax of so you will need to rewax. It will not harm the finish or the lense.

I've used windex (yeah, windex) depending on the paint type...any water-based paint dissolves pretty well. Otherwise WD-40 is the trick.

Try some chrome cleaner or Brasso, it worked for me. The chrome cleaner is very lightly abrasive and will remove the paint without scratching the lens.

i use toothpaste,its the same thing as a rubbing compound
works great and had a minty smell ...lol

The safest thing would be to use Novus plastic polish

I own a sign shop and i always use citrus based cleaner or alcohol. Just don't use anything stupid like pvc cleaner or nail polish remover. It will melt the plastic.

if you go with the wd40 dont buy the spray tins (cost to much).

Go to you local motor factors and buy a gallon of wd40 (comes with a spray container) for approx 22 notes.



Wd40 on a rag is a great way to clean your wheels
