how to check oil

i own a 1996 goldwing se. i have taken off both side panels and looked for a sight glass. where is the dipstick or glass to check oil. i did not get the manual when i purchased a short time ago.

also what is best way to check (level, hot/cold, etc.)

No sight glass Top Cop, dipstick does it. Should be on right behind engine covers. measuring is done with dip Unscrewed.

Shure others will chip in if your 96 is different from my 98.
