How to Repair GL1100 Exhaust?

I too think the patch might fail in a short time though it looks good. First choice is to weld a patch. Second choice is get some exhaust sealer (It's made to withstand the heat) and cover the patch with the sealer. Next drill and sheetmetal screw it on. The sealer will ooze in to any voids to seal it up. That stuff gets like porcelain when it hardens and heat doesn't bother it.
