How to tease a Harley guy.......!

Y'all would've been durned proud of me!

While waiting for Blackdog to arrive, 15-20 Harley guys came out of the Maryhill museum and stood cooling off in the shade....... pretty heavy guys, all red with heat, all sweaty, all wearing them dumb doo-rags.......

One of them handed me his camera....

"Do you mind takin' our picture, " he asked.

"Not at all," I said, taking his camera and about three others from the group.......

After I gotthe Motor Company boyslined up in the screen, I said:

"Okay, guys! Try and look happy.... pretend you're riding Hondas!"

There was a stunned silence, and I was just about deciding to run for my life when there was an uproar of laughter.......

Lining up another camera, I said:

"Okay, guys, instead of saying 'cheese," try saying 'another hundred dollars!'"

Again, there was a moment of silence, and then the gales of laughter.....

"Damn!" Said one of the biggest. "Dude musta owned one once!"

Friendly guys really, and they were still laughing when they left......... we're all more alike than different, right?

There is a picture I've posted here showing a Moderator with a bunch of Club riders from another state. I've posted it, and it's in my photo album.

What I didn't post was the back-story that goes with that picture.

Beings as I was in another state, with a Chapter that wasn't my own, I'd taken a good deal of good-natured ribbing over my Road Sofa/Geezer Glide/Rice Grinder.

Just moments before that picture was snapped, someone called out "Gather up, we're going to take a group picture!"

I immediately ran to my bike, opened the saddlebag containing the tool-kit, grabbed the 19mm wrench out of the toolbox, and knelt down next to the engine of my bike and looked to the street.

One of the guys asks me "What the h**l are you doing man?"

"Well, y'all said group picture, I was just assuming the standard Harley Biker pose that I see in the magazines all the time so I'd fit in with everyone else, anyone need a clean wrench?"

I was officially dubbed "alright" by the guys in that chapter over that one. :)

Way too go CJ. But you really should have gotten a picture with you in the middle of them.

Hey Kramer, where is that picture you have? :action:

They actually told me that the picture was going to be taken in front of a house, not with the bikes, so I had to put my wrench away and stand with the rest of 'em. :D

I ride with a lot of folks that ride Harleys and we have a great time giving each other a hard time. I found rice under my bike at one stop, they found oil on the next. They know the difference between a vacum and a Harley (position of the dirt bag.) It isn't what you ride, it is how you ride. It should be about fun and friendship. Ride safe. Randy
