I've had this little multimeter/digital engine analyzer for a while, used it before on a cx500 (twin cylinder). It's a Sunpro CP7676 digital engine analyzer, with TACH and Dwell Tach functions. The instructions suggest connecting the red to the negative side of the primar coil, or two the tach wire... I've just, in the past, placed the red near the spark plug, but not sure if that's right. Why do the numbers come out as a multiple or fraction of the actual RPM?
How do these things work, and how are you supposed to connect and which settings to set for cylinder when using against a Gl1100, 4 cylinder motor. I'm pretty sure it doesn't read directly, when set at 4 cylinders, although I'm going to try to find out so that I can set my idle per Honda's +/- 50 adjustments.
