I just installed a 12V power outlet in my 2006 1800. It's a Radio Shack part wired to the accessory plug behind the left hand fairing compartment. It works fine but with the Garmin plugged into it I get a hum and engine noise in the intercom/headset when using the MP3 aux out from the GPS. Unplug the 12V charger so the GPS is running off the internal battery and the noise goes away.

Could it be the Radio Shack part vs a Honda outlet or is there a better ground required or ???

Any advice would be appreciated ... thanks
