Thanks to Steve's video instructions I successfully installed a Utopia backrest on my wing today. The instructions were right on target process-wise but the necessary seat cut was a bit painful and required more effort than I anticipated. I know that at one point when I was in the floor taking the knife plunge, if the camera was rolling, I would have been banned from this site as it did indeed resemble a monkey with a football .

Anyway it is a done deal and once again I thank Steve and all who provided personal feedback as it looks and feels great!

Thanks all!

I have a Utopia back rest on my bike. It was there when I bought the bike from the PO. I didn't know the Utopia was such a good backrest. What is so great about it? I haven't used any other backrest so I have nothing to compare it too.
I had a Markland backrest on my GL1500whichprovided good back support but removing theseatrequired extra effort since it was attachedto the back passenger handle supports.Reinstalingwas also an enhancedchore whenre-aligningthe four seatbolts.
