Absolutely. Look, these things are plastic. They can be repaired and painted easily. I have a gash, and I mean agash in my left saddlebag. It is deep and about two inches long. I was going to remove the cover and have a body man paint it but I'm going to do it myself this winter. I have some experience and believe I will handle it well. OEM paint is expensive. You might have a jobber near you that will mix the color for you cheaper. For me, it will cost about $250 in paint, clear coat, and accelerator off the internet. I have not checked out a local jobber yet. I have the air guns and the proper sanding supplies, as well as the body puddy to fill the gash in my saddlebag. I'm going to paint both saddlebags and one front blinker housing that the previous owner somehow scratched up.Can it be repaired to look like it was never there? These things are expensive.

I had an estimate done at a body shop and they wanted $450 to do the job if I did all the r&r. A painter friend of mine would do it for $150 if I did all the r&r and got him just the paint. So basically, I could have all the parts done for $250 approx or do it myself for the same. I need a bike project for the winter so I'm going to do it myself.
If you can find a saddlebag in your color that someone wants to sell, you might come out ahead. I don't know. But repair can be done. On yours, it may only need a blending and may cost much less than my repair. I'm going to do a full repaint of both saddlebag doors and a front mirror. Do you have any body shop friends?
