They are not hard to repair. If the seals are still good, they can be cheap too. Just a quart of atf and some time. You will need compressed air to do it though. There are some good threads on here to help you through it, but you should be able to do it in a matter of a few hours. If you wanted to spend the money, progressives are pretty good, but for new expect to spend 300+.
