I fed mine up through the bottom opening up to the pocket on the left (keeping the wires away from moving parts) where I already have wires stored from the switch unit I mounted on the top of the clutch reservoir. I matched the opposite side with the switch unit as well so they look the same and i have extra switches if needed. From there you have to have a secure ground to thesteel bodyand the hot wire runs through the switch and on to fuse center I installed under the seat for extra lights and other items. If you have nothing else you can keep if simple for now and take that wire to the top of the fuse box under the left panel below your seat. Use the terminal marked positive (closest to the front of the bike) as the one next to it is negative. this is a 5 amp rating I don't remember what the ring of fire is rated at.
It really needs to be switched as in some states it is illegal if you have blue with it. There are other ways of course, but this is the way I did it.
