Hi,

I just bought a fork brace for my GL1100 off Fleabay. (did not come with any instructions).

Any tips on installing it? Do I need to lossen the wheel/fork or can I simply install it?

Thanks in advance.

regards,

Dan

I just did a Superbrace on my 1000 about half an hour ago. The instructions said to place 1/8 inch below the dust seals. If you can not do that place a single peice of paper between the brace and the fender for a spacer and go down to that. Loosen the axle cap bolt and ensure the axle has no bind. Install the brace and torque to 10 foot lbs. Retorque the axla cap bolts and remove papaer if used. Then verify the spacing on your bake calipers per the manual.

Thanks -- will follow your steps. This is not a super-brace -- here is a better picture.

Thanks,

Looks exactly like the one I had on the 78 I just took apart.
