intercom install on 86 gl1200a

My 86 1200a has an intercom function built in to the radio.There is a male plug that is not being used which is red-3 pins,a female plug that is brown 4-pin and is brown under the left fairing pocket neither being used. Under the seat there is a 2-pin plug and it is brown in color. My question is can these be used for an intercom system and if so what do I need for the hook-up?

The same brown plugs on my 1100 is for the driver handlebar controls and the passenger PTT button for the cb unit. The 1200's still use the 5-pin din plugs for the headsets so you need to look further for the intercom cables. You may not have them but can buy them off Ebay or Sierra Electronics.
