i tried to hook up an ipod on my 1800 goldwing using the plug in the left compartment, i got it to play but i cant change the songs with the switch on the handle bar. i also have the mp3 player hooked up in the trunk. could this be the problem or do i need a specific ipod ???? any help

the connector in the left compartment only hooks up the speakers to your Ipod. If you have the Mp3 system in the trunk that hooks into the system through the CD system hook up then you can use the handle bar controls

The J&M unit has a USB port which you can plug your Ipod cable into.

you should be able to use the same cord you use to hook the IPOD to the computer and down load the music
