I've done the 1000 miles in 24hrs several times, but never sent in any papers to get my goodies. I don't plan to do them, I just take off for a trip needing to get somewhere and I enjoy the ride and just get there. Then I think dang I should have planned it as an Iron Butt. LOL

I'm with chromo

I have done it many times. It's not really that hard on a wing and I can't see wasting my money to get a piece of paper that says I did it.

I'm happy for those who do it and are proud members of that club. If it's your thing than go for it. Go ahead and do the 1500/36 too or any of the other ones they have. If it gets you on your bike then there's nothing wrong with it at all.

Good luck!
I agree, but heck for $50 I want that license plate cover that says "Worlds toughest rider" LOL

Honestly though, if I actually had a trip planed out enough to send in the stuff I would do it. As it is I just do it without any plans!

I think I may do one in July this year!
Send in all papers and make my own shirt!

"Worlds toughest tough riders, 1200 miles in 24 hours with 500lb trailer"!

I need some 50lb bags from NE. and round trip by Google show it about 1200 miles.
I hauled home a 1500 with no plastics from CA. just fine so I should be able to do trailer and 50lb sacks no problem! LOL

Unless I stop to visit folks in KS. or spend the night or 2 then no problem making it an iron butt. But if I can have more fun playing around why rush it??
