hi. curious if any members have done one of these iron-butt association challenges? I did one on 6/18/2013 - 1074 miles. Just need to get it certified. It was a long day - left at 4:30 Am and got home at about 11:45. Thought the last 90 miles were going to get thr best of mes as they were in the dark and I haven't done much night driving. The old 82 Wing did great - didn't skip a beat! Not bad for 120,000 miles!

iron-butt challenge

Google mapped it and that showed I did 1089 miles compared to the odo showing 1074. Went from Warroad, MN, to Grand Froks, ND, down to Sioux Falls, SD, over to Albert Lea, MN, up to Grand Rapids, MN and then back to Warroad. Saved all receipts and my wife witnessed me leaving at 4:30 AM and her & my son witnessed me arriving home at 11:50 PM. Thought good way to get a hell of a ride in! Best part of the ride ws the sign my son made for me saying congrats on doing 1000 miles in 1 day and the drawing of the bike on it that showed the saddlebags, trunk & backrest just like my 'Wing has & the light post they decorated at the end of the drive way for my arrival!

don't know if I'll do another one thsi year but will do the bun-bruner 1500 next year, unofficially! Chromo, I do agree with you as I don't really need the paper but did want the physical challenge of it. Not sure who mentioned "on a GoldWing, it's almost cheting", I would emphasize "ALMOST" as it was a pretty good physical challenge for me. Didn't get much prep time as weather has been pretty chilly up here. Think longest ride I did this year previously b4 the Iron-Butt was 150 miles. To Ronaldlimarzi, congrats! Hope I can still do something like that when I get to be that age. Congrats to FM also. I don't beleive any of us have to prove a ride liek that to anone. If they call BS on you, tell them to prove you didn't!!
