Hi Sanfelice, the Pilot screw with or without a limiter cap is located on the bottom of a tower which runs down the side of the float bowl. It is not part of the float bowl. On the air intake side of the carb. The float bowl drain screw is a brass screw, the head of which is slightly smaller than a dime on the lowest point of the float bowl.

The spring and o-ring definitely make it the pilot screw. Should have also been a tiny flat washer between the spring and the o-ring.

Hi Sanfelice, I can't remember where the pilot screw is located on the GL1000. Randall Washington is the acclaimed expert on the GL1000. His web site has volumes of information about the GL1000 that cannot be had anywhere else. I am not trying to put you off, if there was any way I could help, I would. Take a look at this site.
