I have a 1996 1500 SE that PO installed the trailer wiring on. I just had to replace the # 3 Relay after riding the bike back from purchase pulling the trailer. PO told me he had the same problem on a road trip while pulling the trailer.

Can someone explain how to isolate the trailer wiring from the system wiring to help eliminate this problem ?
