This is a re-post from another Forum but I think it's important. If anyone is in this area, please contact this business and let them know how you feel.

A brother on another web-forum I belong to has ran into a problem with a vendor that specializes in custom Metric bikes and I am sure that I don't know all the details from both sides and there are always two sides to every story But this is just a word of warning for everyone that is considering having some custom work done to thoroughly check out the builder, is he a custom fabricator or a parts bolter, it makes a difference on how well your bike turns out in the end. I'll just post a link to the post that he made it's:

http://rswarrior.com/forums/t/139628.aspx?PageIndex=1

And I'll ask if anyone of us have ever had any dealings with a company called "Insight Customs" or their owner Ben Taylor? Again, this is not intended to flame Mr. Taylor or his company, but only to get the word out about checking out you builder before making a potentially expensive mistake.

Thanks for your time and reading this post,
Ray

I didn't read but 4 comments after the guys report.

Not good. I feel that he started out wrong though, he did nearly all of the deal by email without going to see the guy in person, inspect the shop where he works, the quality of the work he has done, and ask for a good sized list of names for references of builds in the last year or maybe two.

I feel bad for his situation, but without a lawyer, he is sunk.

I learned a long time ago, if I want it done my way.......I do it myself.

If he has a signed contract, and receipts for the money he's paid, the shop has to produce.

He should sue. With a contract and receipts for his money along with the documentation the already has he'll have Ben's ass in a sling.

After reading that again...I don't think it would be possible to keep me from kicking Ben's arse up between his shoulder blades for him.

Thanks for the comments guys. I think this pretty much sucks myself.

I had a similar experience 20 or so years ago. The guy that ripped me off died maybe 10 yrs. or so ago.

I took the pos to court and received a judgment. I never saw a dime.

What a joke, that is the last time I was ripped off by a body shop or anyone else for that matter.

Yep, I think he's screwed. For the amount of money he's out it would be small claims court in most states. If the guy gave him a hard time picking up his stuff without paying more he's going to have to go to court and get a judgement. If the guy lets him pick up his stuff without further charge he may as well do that and consider it tuition in the school of hard knocks. Hiring a lawyer would just add more bills to the loss, suing the shop will most likely be like trying to squeeze blood out of a turnip.
