Looking through a drawer today, found a buckle I forgot I still had.
I bought it in a antique shop in NC in the late '90s just a couple years after buying the '85 GL1200A that was Vintage Red.
We had rode the 1200 down the outer banks and came back home inland through SC - NC - into Va.
The buckle seemed a good fit.
The back is marked … "N L 49 BERGAMOT Brass Works 1984".
I recall it being the trip that convinced me of the need for a seat. We got home, wasn't long I made the call & ordered a Corbin.
