Kickstand Lean

Does Everyone's wings lean really far when on the kickstand?

that can be the fault of the tire type,
the amount of suspension height of the rear wheel.

and, if the OEM side stand has been replaced, it might be a result of that.

My 1800 has a very pronounced lean to the left.

don't know the brand, it has a very large foot print with the emblem of a Goldwing on the top side of it.

With the original stand and the original tires and suspension mine didn't lean far enough, couldn't park on a paved road shoulder parallel with the road. With progressive springs and a 195/55 PVT I added a 1/4" pad to the bottom of the stand.

Also .... keep in mind that while a GoldWing may look like it's top heavy and ready to fall over on that side stand .... with all that engine and transmission weight so low .... it's on pretty solid footing.

Mine was leaning to the side alot also. I took the stand off and hit it a few times with a "big" hammer to straighten it out some. Mine for some reason has a little bit of a bend in it. When it was put back on the bike was a little bit more upright.

As said before there are a couple different things that can cause it. If someone changed the rear tire to a 70 series instead of a 60 to correct the speedo this will cause it also. But they do lean to the left. I always park my wing on the center stand. Rivco makes a pad that bolts onto the bottom of the side stand to help it stand up straighter.

Before the front fork springs were changed to Progressive brand on my 1500,
it seemed like the bike was way leaned over- as judged by decreased effort required when moving it to upright from the side-stand- then and now

Is that a factor in the 1800 with your fancy shock setup?

My 1995 gl1500i & my 2000 gl1500se have a good lean angle on the side stands, they almost always feel secure even if the side stand was slightly up, but didn't feel like it was to far over to the left on level ground. My 1996 gl1500se seems to significantly lean to the left, but doesn't feel like it would go to far. My 2010 gl1800 doesn't feel like it leans enough on the side stand, with the OEM Mt & the 195/55 ct even on level ground it barely took anything to knock it over to the right, now with the 195/60 ct it feels stable on level ground, but I always have to make sure the side stand is never even slightly higher than the tires & this is with the suspension at max pressure.
