It's hard to get a clean quiet shift with the Wing unless you match speeds with the throttle, on upshifts the drop in rpms is around 500 for each gear, kick it up 500 for down shifts. A little preload on the shift lever and a speed match and it goes quietly. Different oils can affect the notchinessas Tony said.
