He retired a little over 2 years ago. His web site was wingconnect.com
I heard he hit a deer on the bike back in 2020, healed up enough to start up again and then for health reasons, completely shut down.

Unfortunately he was the only one that specialized in the microphonic fix and upgrading the early GL1800 radios. The only other option if you want is to contact sierra-mc.com

If that’s the case was there years that the factory radios didn’t have this issue that fits the 05 gl 1800?

If you are referring to the intercom microphonics problem, it only affected 01-05. I don't know if you were able to get an 06-10 head unit if it would work. It looks like the connectors are very similar but the 06 on up also uses a separate amplifier tucked in just under rear of trunk. I don't know if an amplifier is needed to make them work.

LarryM might be able to be reached for more info on that other forum that includes 1800 in its forum name. I might suggest sending him a PM over there. It looks like he was still active as of March of this year. I would publish a thread about this but I don't think I'm allowed to posts links from other forums. We don't have a problem with it but they do. Another reason I don't go there anymore, the moderators are Aholes.
