The first check I would make is the connector at the back of the display, it might be a bit corroded.

My LCD on my travel computer is not displaying. The light lights up but I can not see any data. Anyone have any advice.
I purchased the Goldwing about two weeks ago and the guy I got it from said thetravel computer has not worked for years. He said he never took it to the shop and he did not worry about it cause it did not effect the way the bike runs.
