I noticed that there are a couple of posts regarding instrument lights on the 1500. My tach is dark and who knows how long before the speedo's lights are burned out too, so I thought I'd ask you guys:

Anybody know of any LED replacements for instrument lights? I'm finding the long life very attractive . . .

I was going to do that a while back too.
Got convinced not to but other claim they are good for them.

I thought as long as the directional nature was accommodated somehow, and maybe a diffuser might do that, the long life might mean I never have to mess with them again.

I'd be willing to give them a shot . . .

I'm kicking this back to the top in the hope that someone out there has an idea about this . . .are there LEDs I can replace my dash lights with?

I don't know about the 1500 sizes butI replaced all the bulbs in my1100 digital dash with leds from superbrightleds.com. I used white for most of them but found out it works best to use the same color as the lense over the bulb. Green for neutral , red for oil, yellow for turn, etc.I had to modify some of the plastic bases on the led bulbs to fit the bikes sockets. I can read it great now at night.

Rudy, what convinced you not to switch to LED bulbs?
