Led's for trailer.

The basics are the same for LEDs as incandescent lamps. You will have to use a 5 wire to 4 wire converter available at Walmart or any auto supply. Walmart price is $19.95. Lets you use the trailerbrake lights as turn signals. Thus only 4 wires. The converter will have instructions.

Is there a "pig tail" already connected to those wires? If not this will still work, it was just take a little longer. The only thing I could advise, and this sounds quite juvenile and simple, would be to use a test light and track the way the wires are run. Using each turn signal, test that and wire up you coupler accordingly. LED's should wire up just the same as incandecent bulbs, the only difference is going to be the draw that they have.

There is one big difference: LEDs have polarity. You can't wire a LED in backwards, you'll get no light! If you're just putting LEDs in an existing incandescent socket, you should be fine.

If you go with LED's for the running lights then use the 4 element led BA9 for small sockets or the wedge 4 element led. Theyre comparable to the incandescents as for brightness. I tried the single elements and they were much dimmer. So I upgraded.I just put an order in today for led's for my trailer. Just make sure if your swapping the bulbs to order the right base be it socket BA9 or Wedges.

Heck no, I also use the dollar store's on occasion, I keep hoping to see wing parts in there but no such luck so far
