I believe somebody tried breaking into my gas cover because my key no longer fits in it and its bent up. my left side compartment was un snapped and my right sight pocket lock is dented in but works. Can I buy a lock to fit my key? I rebuild locks at my work but I think this one is not repairable.

You need know your key number for a start, this will have a letter in front of a 2 digit number between 00 and 99 the letter will be A, B, C orD. The letters denote the handing of the key A and B are right handed blanks C and D are left handed. Armed with this info you can buy a second hand lock and retumble it to match your old key.

So if your key number was say........ B26 then any second hand Fuel door lock from a GL1500 with a keynumber starting A or B could be retumbled to suit.
