My 84 Aspencade seat is loose on any setting but the furthest forward setting. It seems to lock in when I adjust it back, but then it comes loose again. Any suggestions or comments. Everything looks fine, but I'm obviously missing something.

Does the spring loaded latch seat in position? If it doesn't seat solidly in one of the three positions it will slip. It might be that the shoulder on the latch is worn enough to allow it to unseat. You could always replace the spring loaded latch with a bolt and washer on the left side. You'd have to use a tool to adjust it but it wouldn't move.

It could even be the slots in the bracket (that the adjuster locks into) that is worn, allowing the lock to slide between the last two settings. If thats the case you can get a new plate made up and welded over the worn one. Otherwise just do asPaul suggests (bolt & washer) as most people just find a position that suits them and leave the seat in that position.
