Hi Dan.. no do you?.. Will call, and was planning to hookup at your convenience as soon as I am sure of what the inlaws (in Rancho) have planned for the weekend.... was just fishing for others in the area.. I haven't booked the rental yet .... and if it looks like this evening with all the dust, I may just stay inside.. I rode the HD last time I was here.. only thing I didn't like much was no cruise control.. the 2008 GL1800 lowend Premium Audio version (that is rentable)I think comes standard with cruise.. although the guy taking reservations says not..

Talk to you soon.. Jim

Too bad I'm going to be out of town. Could have shown you around the Ventura area. I may suggest....
Take the (I)5 north to Hwy 126 exit and head East "right turn" on Newhall Ranch Road. Turn Left at Copper Hill and go all the way to the end. There you will pick up Bouquet Canyon.. a beautiful twisty road. Turn Left at Spunky Canyon Road off Bouquet. Turn Right on San Francisco Canyon Road to end. Turn Left to the Rock Inn in Lake Hughes for a Burger at a great bike hangout.
After Lunch, go Right or North from the Rock Inn to Lake Hughes Road... Turn Left and follow Lake Hughes Rd. all the way back to (I)5. A fun and scenic ride I'm sure you will enjoy.

Thanks for the ride route, I've riden it a few times and every time is a treat.

At this point the plan is SDB and I are meeting at LuLu's restaurant for breakfast at 8AM Saturday then we'll talk about what after.
I found out last night we have a refrigerator repair between 1-5PM so I might have to be home but I'll see what I can work out with the wif.

Thanks Dan for the time and ride... and enjoyed meeting you and the family... all in all I put about 600 miles on the GL1800 in two days (probablyalmost half of it with you).. I must say, that the 1800 was much better than I expected.. I have been saying how I like my 1100 for short trips and the 1500 for the long.. butI think it could easily replace both my 1100 and 1500 and I wouldn't care... it was a sweet handling machine.. and I didn't have many of the space issues that others describe...

I too enjoyed the ride and spending the day with you.

Your still here another week right? We could do another lunch or dinner if you get board looking for something to do. I know a cool biker stop on PCH in Malibu we could ride out to, good food. I should have the sidecar back together so you could take mine.

OK Jim, It sounds like you are ready for a 1800. If you are going to sell your 1500 instead of moving it back to California let me know. I'm sure we could work something out. :action:
